A very macabre song about a stalker who torments women in a red-light district, "No More Tears" was written by Ozzy Osbourne along with his guitarist Zakk Wylde, drummer Randy Castillo, bass player Mike Inez and producer John Purdell. Wylde told Songfacts how it came together: "We were just messing around in rehearsals. Mike started jamming that on the bass, then Randy started playing drums, and then John started doing that keyboard bit."
No More Tears was the first album Ozzy recorded while he was sober. This was a big change for him, since he had done drugs and alcohol for over 20 years. He became a family man, and was even rumored to exercise from time to time.
"No More Tears" was the title track and first single from Ozzy's sixth solo album. Unlike his previous albums, it did not have a demonic title and cover art, and while this song is dark fantasy, many of the other songs are more personal and reflective, particularly "Mama, I'm Coming Home" and "Road To Nowhere." Ozzy is pictured on the cover with angel wings.
