With or without the exclamation mark, the novelty song "Goodness Gracious Me!" was recorded by Sellers and Loren to promote The Millionairess in which they both starred. The film was released in 1960, although the song does not actually appear in it. Written by lyricist Herbert Kretzmer and composer David Lee, it was released on the Parlophone label backed by "Grandpa's Grave" (a novelty song by Sellers alone), and was the brainchild of future Beatles producer George Martin.
