This upbeat track is fueled by an early-'50s girl-group feel. The song was produced by frequent collaborator, songwriter/producer Butch Walker, who has co-written Lavigne hits like "My Happy Ending" and "When You're Gone." For more on working with Butch, check out our interview with Jaret Reddick of Bowling for Soup.
Lavigne explained the song's meaning on her official album track-by-track: "Stop Standing There is a track that I wrote on my own at home on my piano. This song is a song that I think a lot of girls can relate to. It's about that guy who's just standing there and not really doing anything and I'm like 'hello, do you feel like I feel? Are we are on the same page? Is something going to happen?'"
