"Gata Only" (translates to "Cat Only" or "Girl Only") is a song by Chilean singers FloyyMenor and Cris MJ that took the world by storm in early 2024. The infectious reggaetón track finds the pair trying to win over a hot girl.
FloyyMenor initially released the song solo in December 2023. He felt the single had potential. "I was performing some shows in another region of the country when I wrote this song," FloyyMenor told Billboard. "I knew it was going to be a hit, and it feels amazing that people are supporting it."
The song's local popularity caught the attention of established artist Cris MJ. He was impressed by FloyyMenor's style and decided to collaborate, adding his own vocals and production touches. "His flow was similar to mine," he noted. "I decided to support him and do the song with him," Cris MJ elaborated on the creative process. "I worked on [a new version of] the track in my house. Gave it all my love. We did a new music video, we mixed it. I added second voices. He was very excited."
