Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Every You, Every Me. By Songfacts®.

This song was used on the soundtrack of the movie Cruel Intentions with Ryan Phillippe, Reese Witherspoon, Selma Blair and Sarah Michelle Gellar. It's in the very beginning of the movie. The lyrics reflect the tone and plot of the movie, particularly Ryan's character, Sebastian. Although he sets out to hurt this girl just to win a bet, he ends up falling in love with her, only to lose her in the tragedy at the end of the movie.

This is the third single from Placebo's second studio album, Without You I'm Nothing. The band broke through a year earlier in the UK with their hit single "Nancy Boy."

Placebo frontman Brian Molko wanted to call this "Heavy Metal Petting Zoo," but he was overruled.
