Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Slither. By Songfacts®.

This is the first single from Velvet Revolver's debut album. The group was comprised of former members of Guns N' Roses with lead singer Scott Weiland (formerly of The Stone Temple Pilots). In 2003, they contributed the song "Set Me Free' to the soundtrack for the film The Hulk. That song helped get them signed to BMG records and also appears on the Contraband album.

In our interview with Scott Weiland, he talked about this song's meaning. Said Weiland: "The lyrics are about a relationship. 'When you look you see right through me, cut the rope, fell to my knees, born and broken every single time.' It's just feeling not right in a situation."

In 2005, this won a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance. Along with Brian Wilson, Alicia Keys, Tim McGraw, Bono, Stevie Wonder and Norah Jones, the group performed The Beatles "Across The Universe" on the show as part of a tribute to tsunami victims in Asia.
