"'Miserable' is basically about feeling like you need something really bad, and when you have it, it makes you feel like s--t," Lit's lead vocalist, A. Jay Popoff, tells Billboard. "Some people feel it's about a person, but it's not necessarily. It can be about addiction."
Pamela Anderson stars as a bikini-clad giant in the music video, directed by Evan Bernard. The miniature-looking band performs the song while perched on Anderson's rear until, one-by-one, they meet their doom. The guys met Anderson while guesting on her action TV series V.I.P. (episode: "Hard Val's Night"). Popoff recalls: "During that time, we spent a lot of time with Pamela. Then we got the treatment for the video that said we'd be performing on a giant woman. We thought it sounded cheesy at first, but not if we could get Pamela to do it. She was totally into it."
This song opens with a bit of misdirection: You make me come... You make me complete... You make me completely miserable.
