Frontman Alex Gaskarth told Kerrang!: "It's about a moment in our career when it didn't seem like rock 'n' roll was what anybody wanted to hear. I don't want to make a goddamn EDM record just to stay afloat. We've had people say to us, 'You need to make an Imagine Dragons record sound more like The Killers.' No, we f--king don't. We don't need to chase what their doing just displaying relevant."
