Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about L8 CMMR. By Songfacts®.

This song of devotion about her man finds Allen warning other women: "Look at my ring. You can't have him." The gleeful, giddy track featured in series 3 of The HBO series Girls.

Allen told Rolling Stone that placing the song in the show made perfect sense to her. "I think the show is brilliant, so it was more or less a no brainer for me," she said. "Greg Kurstin, who produced and co-wrote this track with me, played a few of the new tracks for a friend of his who works on the show. Apparently [music supervisor Manish Raval] loved the songs, and later came back to Greg asking if he could include one of the tracks in an episode."

The song was inspired by Lily Allen's husband Sam Cooper's performance in bed. The singer laughed to The Sun: "He was embarrassed, but I think people know me for being candid about everything. So I can't just suddenly get married and not talk about those things any more, because I think my fans would be like, 'Er, why doesn't she talk about sex?'" "Sam was there when I was recording that track as I did it in the house," Allen continued. "He kept walking in saying, 'This is gross.' I said sorry but he knew what he was getting into when he got with me."
