Interesting facts and trivia about Heartbeats. By Songfacts®.

Gonzalez is a Swedish folk singer/songwriter of Argentinian parentage. His version of this song became a hit when it was featured in an award-winning commercial for the Sony BRAVIA TV. The commercial, which featured technicolor rubber balls bouncing down hilly San Francisco streets, was shot by Danish director Nicolai Fuglsig. He closed off an entire San Francisco block for two days while earth-moving equipment and compressed-air cannons shot the 250,000 balls down the street. The film crew had just one opportunity to get it right. No computer graphics were used.

This song was written and first performed by the Swedish electronic indie duo The Knife on their 2003 album Deep Cuts. Ironically, the group is famous for their non-commercial philosophy and unwillingness to cooperate with the media or mainstream music scene.
