Jordan Davis married Kristen O'Connor in 2017, and their first child, Eloise, was born in November 2019. Davis wrote this reflective song with Josh Kerr, Josh Dorr, and the track's producer, Paul DiGiovanni, while comparing relationship notes during a writer's retreat. The four started discussing how awesome their romantic partners are and how distressing it would be if they ever broke up. "That was really the genesis for this song," Davis explained. "That we never want to lose the love we have, and we'd do anything to hold on to it."
Paul DiGiovanni was the producer behind Jordan Davis' debut album, Home State. The singer's collaborations with Josh Kerr and Josh Dorr have been less frequent, though Davis and Dorr did co-write the 2018 track "Selfish" with Jason Gantt.
Josh Kerr got hitched to Maddie & Tae's Tae Dye in February 2020, so his contribution to the track came from the viewpoint of a newlywed.
