Hailing from the Mozart Estate in West London's Queen's Park, Fredo spent his youth surrounded by crime. He became a prominent figure in the Harrow Road Boys gang and had two spells in prison before finding success as a rapper. Here, Fredo reflects on his former criminal lifestyle and his come-up. He admits he can't escape his old gangsta life, so he needs to keep himself armed in case of trouble. But Fredo is "ready" to stay on the straight and narrow as he doesn't want to end up in jail again. He also reflects on his relationships with women, which aren't satisfying him. He feels lonely, because he plays the field rather than committing himself to one person.
Atlanta R&B singer-songwriter Summer Walker croons the chorus, which samples The Fugees 1996 hit "Ready Or Not."
Mojam supplied the beat. A production duo comprising Mustafa Omer and James Murray, they have worked with Emeli Sandé ("Next To Me"), Naughty Boy ("La La La"), Aitch ("Buss Down") and Anne-Marie ("Don't Play").
