Working on the song brought out a lot of emotions for the Cash Cash trio of Jean Paul Makhlouf, Alexander Makhlouf and Samuel Frisch. "Surrendering is usually seen as something negative or a sign of defeat, but this song shows a different side of things," Makhlouf told Billboard magazine. "Sometimes it's the fight that kills you. Sometimes you don't even know what you're fighting for. Sometimes surrendering can set you free!"
The single was promoted by a social network campaign, whereby Cash Cash encouraged their fans to change their Twitter profile pictures to white flags, mirroring it's cover art.
