Ed Sheeran closes the deluxe edition of Divide with this slow song in which he sings about self-care. Life can get you down so I just numb the way it feels I drown it with a drink and out-of-date prescription pills And all the ones that love me they just left me on the shelf No farewell So before I save someone else, I've got to save myself Until he looks after himself properly, Sheeran won't be in a position to help anyone else.

Sheeran co-wrote the song with Amy Wadge, who assisted him on "Thinking Out Loud." The track was produced by Labrinth who had his own international hit single with "Beneath Your Beautiful."

Q magazine asked Sheeran if we can take the line about drowning life "with a drink and out-of-date prescription pills" literally. He replied: "I guess so. You can do. Eraser is about slipping into temptation. You know all those things are the wrong thing to do but you still do them anyway. And Save Myself is about stopping them."
