The song was written for Fifth Harmony by "2 On" singer-songwriter Tinashe. According to Spin, she cooked it up while on the road with Katy Perry during the 2015 fall.

Part of the girl-power anthem was used for a 2016 Rio Olympic Games commercial. It plays as the American female gymnastics team practice their moves.
