Interesting facts and trivia about Walk. By Songfacts®.

Ghanian-born and UK raised R&B singer Kwabena "Kwabs" Adjepong spent his school years actively involved in choirs and jazz bands before winning a place to study at the Royal Academy of Music. His first exposure in front of a national audience came when he featured in the 2011 BBC2 series, Goldie's Band: By Royal Appointment. Kwabs was one of twelve young talented musicians, selected and coached by the drum and bass musician for a performance at Buckingham Palace in front of Prince Harry. Kwabs co-wrote his debut single "Spirit Fade" with Jessie Ware producer Dave Okumu. When it went live on his soundcloud, it gained 10,000 plays in 24 hours. Various BBC Radio 1/1Xtra DJs including MistaJam, Annie Mac and Zane Lowe then championed the singer, exciting the ears of the labels and he was signed up by Atlantic Records.

Kwabs sings here about believing in your own heart. He explained to The Sun how being in care helped shape the song. Kwabs explained: "My mum was a single parent and wasn't able to look after me. I was put in foster care when I was 11." "It was tough and unfamiliar," he continued. "Singing became a way for me to express myself. 'Walk' is about moving forward, I want to show people there's hope."

The song was hugely popular in Germany, reaching #1 in January 2015. It also reached the Top 10 in Austria and Switzerland.
