This is the lead single from Canadian Rock band Nickelback's seventh album Here and Now. The record was recorded in Mountain View Studios in Vancouver and saw the band themselves acting as producers. The single was released on September 26, 2011.
Apparently, the Nickelback quartet were all standing together during the recording of Here and Now. Frontman Chad Kroeger said of the album: "We're four people who love making music, the way we like to make it. We entered the studio this year with a vision, and it all came together."
Nickelback wanted it to look like they were performing in the Serengeti for the music video, so director Justin Francis (Weezer, Kelly Clarkson) brought the band to a field 30 miles outside of Los Angeles and digitally erased the city from the background in the wide shots. The clip also includes shots of people standing together during times of crisis.
