This passionate and vulnerable pop-soul song finds Alicia Keys singing about how we need to stop chasing around trying to do everything and instead spend quality time with our loved ones. So can we talk for a minute? Stop for a minute? All I wanna do is you Most of the tracks on Alicia are downtempo and understated, but "Love Looks Better" is much more upbeat. Said Keys: "This song has such an energy. It really talks about how busy we've become, how fast we got used to moving, and now we realize that my love looks better on you. It's time to really be present for each other."
Keys wrote the song with: OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder, who has had outstanding success writing and producing hit songs for female artists like Adele ("Rumour Has It"), Beyoncé ("Halo"), Leona Lewis ("Bleeding Love") and Ellie Goulding ("Burn"). Tedder's frequent production partner, Noel Zancanella. He won the 2016 Grammy Award for Album of the Year for his production with Tedder and Taylor Swift of Swift's 1989 album. Larrance "Rance" Dopson, who founded the American musical ensemble 1500 or Nothin'. He has lent his writing, production or instrument skills to songs for Justin Timberlake ("Filthy," "Say Something") and Ella Mai ("Boo'd Up").
Keys debuted the song live at the NFL Network 2020 Kickoff concert on September 10, 2020, with graphics supporting the Black community on the screen behind her.
