This standalone single is in the vein of motivational hit tunes by Katy Perry ("Roar") and Rachel Platten ("Fight Song.") "It's very empowering," Pope said. "Very sassy … I'm showing a little bit more of an edgy side of myself."
The song, written by Brett Boyett with Hot Chelle Rae's Nash Overstreet, blends the singer's country roots with her love of rock music. "That's a huge part of who I am. I grew up singing country music... but I've always had that rock edge," she told Rolling Stone. "And I don't want to ever neglect that, because it wouldn't be authentic to me. So this song feels really empowering and inspirational."
Pope performed the song during the opening ceremony for the Special Olympics on July 25, 2015 in Los Angeles.
