This nearly five-minute track opens with twirling synths and sweet trilling by Amy Millan of Canadian indie rockers Stars. We have to wait until the 3:10 mark before we get to the track's first lyric line, sung acapella. Robinson explained to Billboard magazine why Millan's voice is deployed more as an instrument rather than a conventional melody line. "Toplines usually suck," stated the EDM producer. "I'll send a song to a band or artist whose entire body of work I love and I'll ask them to do a vocal for one of my songs and I'll get it back and I'll hate it so much. It might have to do with my possessiveness over my music."
