Kehlani has said she's attracted to both boys and girls and wrote this breezy R&B come-on about a romantic relationship with a woman. However the singer wishes to keep it casual, wanting somebody who can give her time, but only as a distraction from what she's got going on.

Kehlani recorded this when she was in Philadelphia laying down tracks with Pop & Oak (Alessia Cara's "Here") She recalled to Genius: "I was talking to this girl and I was like, it's cool to have a little thing but right now I'm so in my vibe. So you got to be a distraction but you really can't take away from what I got going on. I made it an Instagram caption first and then was like, 'that s--t was fire,' and took off the caption - we made this song right after."
