In an interview with Rip & Burn magazine, Caleb Followill explained that the song was about his feelings for his brother Jared's girlfriend, and that although he liked her, she didn't think much of Caleb.

When Kings of Leon toured in 2007, this was often the last song they played. When they toured with Pearl Jam, would sometimes play tambourine and sing along with Caleb Followill.
