This funky house track is the second single released from Jax Jones and Martin Solveig's collaboration, Europa. They dropped the tune on February 21, 2020.
Jones recruited his fellow South Londoner Raye as the vocalist for the track. The two previously worked together on Jones' 2016 breakthrough single "You Don't Know Me."
The song is an ode to dancing at the club and sipping multiple shots of tequila. Jones explained in a press release that because he sets out to create happy music that people want to dance to, he tries to make his studio "a fun environment." One way he does this is to get his co-writers drinking Tequila rather than coffee, "to break the ice and loosen up the vibe." Jones and Raye did this when they came up with "You Don't Know Me." This time the Tequila was really flowing, so Jones, Raye and Solveig ended up writing a song about the Mexican alcoholic drink. "For me this song represents good times with my friends," Jones said. "Not taking yourself too seriously, memorable nights out and tacos."
