Much of the lyrical content of Come Around Sundown was made up on the spot at the mic by Caleb. However for this song, he sat down and penned the lyrics. Caleb told The Music Fix: "I actually sat down and wrote the lyrics for that. And it took me about 20 minutes; it was pretty quick. And I actually sat down and played it for my girlfriend. She welled up with tears and said, 'those are some of the best lyrics I've ever heard.' And Jared, yesterday, he told me he thinks that it maybe the one of greatest choruses that we've ever written."
