Frank Ocean tells the story of a privileged Southern Californian girl living a "sweet life" in this collaboration with one of his heroes - Pharrell Williams - who wrote and produced the song with Ocean. We are told that the advantaged Ladera Heights resident has had a landscaper and a housekeeper since she was born and lives in continual sunshine. She sees no need to see the world when she already "has the beach."
"Sweet Life" was the third single from Channel Orange, Frank Ocean's debut album. Ocean tackles a similar topic in another cut from the album, "Super Rich Kids." That song looks at parents who spend lots of money of their kids in lieu of spending time with them.
