Everything's Electric

Over a Rolling Stones-esque riff, Liam Gallagher opens this song by referencing the destruction instigated by the pandemic before looking forward to a brighter future. There are moments of contemplation too as Gallagher calls out somebody he feels took advantage of him. Though he gave them everything, they remain cold inside. Rather than succumbing to hatred, the singer tries to remain positive, but it's hard as "underneath the red sun, everything's electric."

Gallagher co-wrote the supercharged song with Dave Grohl and producer Greg Kurstin. Gallagher and Grohl first met in 2005 when Foo Fighters and Oasis toured together. Speculation about a collaboration between the two rock stars started building during the recording of Gallagher's 2019 Why Me? Why Not album, but it didn't end up happening back then. Just after the ex-Oasis singer finished laying down the tracks for C'mon You Know, he received a phone call. His people wanted him to return to the studio because Grohl and Kurstin had a song idea for him. "So I had to sack off the pub, went in and whacked the vocal on it and sent it back to Dave and Greg in America," he recalled to Apple Music. "They sent a few notes back and then it was done. Top tune."

Kurstin previously produced several tracks on Gallagher's 2017 album As You Were and Why Me? Why Not. He won the 2018 Grammy Award for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, in part for his work on As You Were.
