Brian "Geologist" Weltz told the French magazine VoxPop that this song, "is one of my favorites from the album: At first I wanted to put in as the second track, after 'In the Flowers!'"
The VoxPop interviewer commented that he associates this song most closely with the optical illusion cover art on the CD, which is based on the works of Japanese psychologist Akiyoshi Kitaoka. Dave "Avey Tare" Portner explained to the magazine that cover was inspired by an article in a magazine that they read on "perception, optical illusions, and so on."
