I Start To Run

White Denim are an alternative rock trio from Austin, Texas. This song is the first single from their second European album, Fits.

The band spends much of their time in isolation recording in their studio, which is located in a trailer in the middle of nowhere. They have found that the sheer weirdness of their success has made them even more insular- a preoccupation reflected in singer/guitarist James Petralli's lyrics for Fits. He told Mojo magazine September 2009 that this song was, "simply saying, 'Hey we're nervous about this process." He added: "I try to represent the others through what I write. I basically imagine that we have a collective mind. The first half of that record is essentially dealing with that theme."
