This song kicks off with sampled vocals from 2 Chainz's "Dedication," a cut off his 2016 joint Wayne album ColleGrove. That record was supposed to be the debut LP between the Atlanta rapper and Lil Wayne under the stage name ColleGrove, but due to Weezy's ongoing lawsuit with Cash Money Records, only 2 Chainz was credited as the primary artist.

The sample features 2 Chainz praising Weezy's artistry. If it wasn't for Wayne, it wouldn't be You tatted your face. Lil Wayne told Genius: "I already tattooed some tears on my face, but that song made a few more drops."

Lil Wayne continues to brag throughout the track about his influence on the rap genre. I started this s--t, you just part of this s--t I'm the heart of this s--t, and the heart doesn't skip Weezy was the flagship artist of Cash Money Records since the 1990s and remains at the heart of the rap game.
