Royksopp borrowed for this various instrumental and vocal samples from a Bacharach and David song "Blue on Blue" sang by a Swedish group Gals & Pals. The best known recording of "Blue On Blue" was by Bobby Vinton in 1963.
This was Royksopp's first ever single release in 1999. Originally only 500 copies were made. It was re-released in 2002 as a double a-side along with "Remind Me" to tie in with the Norwegian duo's debut album.
Royksopp are Torbjörn Brundtland and Svein Berge, an ambient dance duo from Tromsø, Norway. The name means "puff ball" (like the fungus).
