This is the first song from the concept album The Sophtware Slump, which is about problems concerning modern technology in society. The song deals with man's alienation in our fast growing technological world and sets the plot for the rest of the album. 2000 man (modern man) seems to have been given a complex task (piloting a craft) which almost ends up catastrophic. But will he give in?

Actor Jason Lee named his son Pilot Inspektor after this song.
