"Follow Me Home" is about an incident in composer Mark Knopfler's past; in the 1984 illustrated biography Dire Straits, he says the song "is very important in a lot of ways. Yes, I was on an island, and yes, there was a girl - but it's not very different from any other tourist sleeping on a beach."
Running to 5 minutes and 50 seconds, this down tempo, distinctly bluesy and intensely personal number is the last track on the album and features some typically distinctive and fine if brief Knopfler soloing.
