The first single from Courtney Love's second studio album Died Blonde, "You Know My Name" was packaged as a double A-side single with the song "Wedding Day."
The song features Motley Crue stickman Tommy Lee on drums.
The song's music video was partially inspired by the character Miss Havisham from Charles Dickens' 1861 novel Great Expectations and the controversial 1966 Czech New Wave comedy-drama movie Daisies. Love explained her role in a preview: "I'm supposed to look like an old Victorian doll crossed with a Dickensian character called Miss Havisham," she said, "who got abandoned on her wedding day at the altar and lived to be a hundred."
