This track from Nicki Minaj's second album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, finds the Queens rapper telling her fellow MC who is boss: "Hit up Hot Topic, Nicki Minaj hoodies, I'm a Brand bitch I'm a BRAND," she spits.
Minaj is joined by Rick Ross and Cam'ron, whilst the beat is provided by Chauncey "Hit-Boy" Hollis, who is signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music label. His other credits include Lil Wayne and Eminem's "Drop The World" and Jay-Z and Kanye West's "Niggas In Paris."
During her early mixtape days, Minaj had a war cry of "It's Barbie, bitch!" Since then, the candy-wigged MC has juggled hip-hop with sugary material light enough to appeal to kids. Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded opens with a series of hard-core rap cuts, but the second half of the album contains a suite of songs by RedOne plus contributions from other pop dance producers. Speaking with MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway on his Sway in the Morning Shade 45 radio show, Minaj explained her choice of which musical genre to use is derived from a feeling. "My story is not gonna always entail a hard hip-hop beat, but sometimes it is," she said. "A lot of the tracks on this album are just a hard hip-hop beat and just spittin' and that's why I enlisted some people like [Cam'ron] and 2 Chainz and the legendary Nas."
