On this single from Travis' ninth studio album, lead singer Fran Healy reminds us that time is fleeting and we should embrace each moment before it's gone for good. He told Apple Music the song started outside of a cab. "I had a lovely conversation with this taxi driver in Glasgow," he said. "And as I was leaving, he leaned out his window. He said, 'Remember, you're a long time in the ground.' Hearing things like that make you really take stock of your time. If you have kids, spend time with them. Give them your time and attention. Don't forget that you'll never get that moment again. That's why Travis really didn't conquer the world, because we were like, 'F--k it, let's spend time with our kids. We've conquered the world, we did great. F--k it.' And we never, ever get a chance to be with a one- or two-year-old version of my son. I've watched my boy grow up, and I've been given that opportunity."

The Scottish band made waves with their debut album, the rock-oriented Good Feeling in 1997, which featured the popular single "All I Want To Do Is Rock." They made their international breakthrough with The Man Who in 1999 with its ubiquitous Britpop tunes "Writing To Reach You" and "Why Does It Always Rain On Me?" Although they didn't go on to become superstars, Travis maintained a steady presence on the UK albums chart with their subsequent releases. 10 Songs peaked at #5.

Healy co-produced 10 Songs with Robin Baynton, who also served as a recording engineer on Taylor Swift's Evermore, Kings Of Leon's Walls, Coldplay's A Head Full Of Dreams, and Florence & The Machine's How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful.
