Vocalist Alex Turner told NME that the band tried to work on this driving rocker with Elvis Costello's drummer, Peter Thomas. He added that the percussionist doesn't appear on it, except in spirit. "If it hadn't been for him, we'd probably have binned that tune," he said, "his enthusiasm was important for the journey." Thomas did contribute drum work to another AM track, "Mad Sounds."
The song finds Turner warning a girl that she's not the settling-down type, and that she's headed for trouble as she is blinded by love. He thinks she should "snap out of it."
The music video was directed by The Arctic Monkeys' regular collaborators Aaron Brown and Ben Chappell of Focus Creeps. The clip stars Stephanie Sigman as a glamorous but unhinged woman having a hard time getting over Alex Turner. We see her obsessing over some grainy studio footage of the band. The Mexican telenovela and movie actress Stephanie Sigman is best known for her starring role in the Mexican drama movie Miss Bala.
