The first single from American indie pop band The Drums second album, Portamento, is an autobiographic song. Frontman Jonathan Pierce told Q magazine: "'Money' was the second song we wrote for the album. The lyrics are about wanting to do something for the person you love and not being able to." It was released as a digital download in the United Kingdom on September 4, 2011.
