Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Asking 4 It. By Songfacts®.

This song finds a vulnerable Gwen Stefani asking her new man if he's sure about being with her. She admits to having a lot of baggage following previous failed relationships. Like the other tracks on This Is What the Truth Feels Like, this alludes to the painful aftermath following her divorce from Gavin Rossdale and her newfound relationship with Blake Shelton.

American rapper Fetty Wap supplies some rhymes – the only feature on the album. Stefani admitted to Entertainment Weekly that it was hard work getting him into the studio. "I feel like a voice with so much character hasn't come along in a long time, so I told my team I wanted to work with him," said the No Doubt singer. "They got me [studio] dates, and then I was like, "I'm working with Fetty this week!" Then I went in, and nope, he doesn't show. Day Two and nope, he doesn't show. Day Three and nope, he doesn't show. I wrote a song for us while I was in the studio and I sent it to him, and nope, no response. It was a miracle it happened."
