Ruins

Much of First Aid Kit's Ruins album deals with the aftermath of Klara Söderberg's doomed engagement to her English boyfriend, singer-songwriter Jo Rose. The title track is one of some of several songs that reveal her pain. However, the lyrics also offer hope amid the wreckage of a failed romance. Klara told HMV.com: "It's the ruins of a relationship. How sad it is, but also how beautiful it was. That's all you have left at the end."

First Aid Kit explained to Consequence of Sound why they named the album after this song: "'Ruins' felt like a good title for this record. We're walking around inside the ruins of a relationship. We're seeing the good as well as the bad and trying to make sense of it all. It's sad, but there's still hope and rejoice in the beautiful memories."
