Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Ghost. By Songfacts®.

Badflower was formed in Los Angeles in 2013 by singer/guitarist Josh Katz and guitarist Joey Morrow after writing a few songs together. They recruited bassist Alex Espiritu and drummer Anthony Sonetti to complete the outfit. The band's name came out of a random conversation that Katz and Morrow were having with one of the singer's family members. Katz recalled to Bandwagon magazine: "We heard the two words said in a certain way that made us both turn to each other and repeat it almost in perfect unison."

This raw and emotional song touches on the sober topic of suicide. Katz, who co-wrote the lyrics, told ABC Radio though he has never tried to end his own life, he has had his difficult moments, mentally. "When I was on the last tour we did, I was suffering from panic disorder," Katz explained. "I would go on stage every night and I would start to have these panic attacks, and I was quite depressed and confused from having to do that for months. When I got back, I wanted to write a song playing out this terrible fantasy for my own form of therapy, I guess."
