This is Kaiser Chiefs' debut single. It was originally released in 2004 when it was a modest success, but it didn't became a Top Ten hit until it was rereleased in 2005, shortly before their debut album Employment came out.
In 2007 this song was notably covered by Mark Ronson and Lily Allen for Ronson's album Version, which consists entirely of cover versions.
Kaiser Chiefs front man Ricky Wilson recalled to NME in 2014: "I remember meeting Lily Allen for the first time after the Ivor Novello award's and no one had ever heard of her. This guy Mike from Universal Publishing said 'This is Lily Allen, she's going to be the next big thing, this is how the record.' He gave me her demo CD and I got her to sign it, so technically I was the first autograph she did."
