This is the song on A Moment of Madness that Izzy Bizu is most proud of writing. She explained to Artist Direct: "It's the most honest song I wrote and it's about the parts of me I'm not proud of, it helped me a lot with self-growth."

The song was recorded for Izzy Bizu's debut album A Moment of Madness, which was released on September 2, 2016. The songstress had come up with the record title about a year previously. She explained to HMV.com: "I was going through a time where I couldn't handle my emotions and it sums up that time, it's all okay now, but it's nice to bookend it with this album."

Whenever Izzy Bizu performs this song she finds herself returning to the same emotion that she is singing about here. The songstress explained to Billboard magazine: "It's crazy. It doesn't matter how much I try to get away from that because it's kind of hard let go of that stuff, you know what I'm saying? I always end up there. It is one of the saddest songs I've written. It's probably one of the most insecure moments and I feel like I really overcome that, but that was a part of who I am and who I was. It's quite a spiritual moment for me as well - sort of asking this extra energy to forgive your insecurities in a weird way. It's like you're pleading with some sort of spirit to get out of you and let you have a clean slate, I guess?"
