Jekyll & Hyde took a long time to make it to Broadway. The songs from the musical were written by Frank Wildhorn, who had written Whitney Houston's #1 "Where Do Broken Hearts Go," and Leslie Bricusse, who wrote "What Kind of Fool am I," "The Candy Man" and "Who Can I Turn To." "This is the Moment" is the most famous song from the musical and it is oddly enough sung by Dr. Henry Jekyll before he turns into Mr. Hyde.
The first recorded version of this song was by Colm Wilkinson, famed for his portrayal of Valjean in Les Miserables. The Moody Blues recorded it in the mid-1990s and also sang it at the '94 Olympics. The most popular version is from The Complete Work featuring Linda Eder, who would go on to star as Lucy, the role she originated on Broadway.
Anthony Warlow is an Australian musical theater legend who in 2008 reprised his role of the Phantom of the Opera. His version and the Moody Blues version have entirely different lyrics.
