The lead single from Chaosmosis, this features vocals by American singer Sky Ferreira. The song was produced by Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie and Andrew Innes, plus Bjorn Yttling of the Swedish trio Peter, Bjorn and John.
Speaking to Billboard magazine about collaborating with Bobby Gillespie and Andrew Innes, the latter of whom served as the drummer of Jesus and Mary Chain in the 1980's, Ferreira said: "It's nice to walk in somewhere and they're not like, 'Okay, your label is harassing me about this and that.' I set it up without anyone else involved, so we just sit and write in a room and there's no pressure." It's also just really cool talking to [Bobby Gillespie and Andrew Innes]! Jesus and Mary Chain is one of my favorite bands ever, so at first I was a little nervous," she continued. "It's really nice to meet with someone and not be disappointed by it, to have them meet every expectation."
Speaking to i-D about Sky Ferreira's guest vocals, Bobby Gillespie said: "We love her, we think she's fantastic, she's got such great spirit and sings with real emotion - there's a very deep feeling to what she does. We'd already been working with her, producing tracks for her next record - we haven't finished them, but we struck up a working relationship and she sang on 'Where the Light Gets In.'"
