Country trap was first brought to the mainstream in 2019 by Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road." While Li Nas X's hit had a standard cowboy theme, this song edges closer to typical rap lyrical elements by incorporating sweary rhymes about street hustling, and giving a huge middle-finger to the cops.

This country-trap ballad kicks off with RMR's a cappella of Rascal Flatts' "These Days" before launching into a similar piano melody to another of the country band's hits, "Bless The Broken Road." RMR's Auto-Tuned croon tells the story of a world-weary street hustler. His heart has been broken by women who revealed their true colors when they became scammers. However, RMR still has enough money from his drug dealing to be able to have baguette-cut diamonds in his jewelry.

So who is RMR? Sage Clark is listed as the songwriter: "I grew up on country and rap music," RMR said in an email to The Fader, "and this song is the interpretation of what the new genre should sound like."
