Lordi

The members of the band are from Finland. They were formed in 1996 by Tomi Putaansuu (Mr. Lordi)

All of the members of Lordi portray a certain character:
Mr. Lordi - The unholy overlord of Treamors
Amen - a mummy
Kita - an alien
Awa - possessed sorceress
Ox - Hellbull

Lordi swept the win in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 for Finland with their song "Hard Rock Hallelujah" - winning by 292 points, 44 points more then the runner up Dima Bilan of Russia. In Finland, the choice for Lordi to represent them in the Eurovision song contest sparked a lot of controversy, which ultimately led to the band being accused of being Satanists. Tomi Putaansuu replied by saying, "Satanists would not write songs like "Hard Rock Hallelujah" or "Devil is a Loser."
