Edgar Winter

Edgar was born with albinism, a genetic condition characterized by lack of pigmentation in the skin and hair, and a severe sensitivity to light. While Edgar has extremely poor eyesight due to the condition, he's surprisingly good at pool, even though he has trouble seeing the green balls because they blend in with the felt.

He's the younger brother of acclaimed blues-rock guitarist Johnny Winter, who also was born with albinism. Edgar and Johnny began playing music together as children, when they both took up the ukulele. Edgar became a talented multi-instrumentalist, and by the late 1960s, he started playing keyboards and sax in Johnny's band. He took part in Johnny's performance at the historic Woodstock festival in 1969.

With his band White Trash, he played the closing night at the Fillmore East on June 27, 1971, along with The Beach Boys, The Allman Brothers Band, The J. Geils Band, and Mountain.
