Jazzy

Yasmine Byrne, better known by her stage name Jazzy, is an Irish singer and DJ. She grew up in Crumlin, a Southside suburb of Dublin, raised by a single mother. Jazzy is of part Jamaican descent through her estranged father.

Jazzy's musical path was forged at Saint Agnes' Primary School, where she learned violin. "It started really small; it was recorders and tin whistles and progressed on to stringed instruments," she told The Irish Examiner. "I joined the orchestra and did all my grades on the violin from there."

Jazzy first came to attention in 2020 as a member of the Crumlin-based four-piece hip-hop group Powerful Creative Minds. They released several singles, including "Problems of These Days" and "Hope is Good, Change is Real." They also released a debut EP, #39, in December 2020. Jazzy left Powerful Creative Minds in 2021 to pursue her solo career.
