Randy Houser was born and raised in Lake, Mississippi, a small town east of Jackson.
While at East Central Community College in Decatur, Mississippi. Houser fronted a band called 10lb. Biscuit but he left them behind in 2002 to pursue his dreams in Nashville.
Houser quickly landed a publishing deal in Nashville. His first big hit came when Trace Adkins recorded "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk", a song Houser co-wrote with Jamey Johnson and Dallas Davidson, for his 2005 album Songs About Me. Released as a single it peaked at #30 on the Hot 100.
