Lukas Nelson

Lukas Nelson is the son of famed country star Willie Nelson - his sixth son, from his fourth wife. The musician has collaborated with his father on numerous occasions, ranging from album appearances to co-written songs to live performances.

Nelson tours and produces music with his backup band, Promise of the Real. He explained the origins of the name to Your Music Magazine, saying that "the way my family raised me, they always said be yourself, be real. I grew up watching Neil Young and the whole vibe that he and my dad represent is being real and not putting on any masks. Whether you are on or off stage you are the same person. When you put on a show the music speaks for itself. That’s what we’re all about."

Nelson has played with various other musical legends besides his father. These include B. B. King, Neil Young, and Bob Dylan. Dylan, in fact, was so impressed with Nelson that he asked him to join his band as a guitarist. Though flattered, Nelson was forced to decline due to other commitments.
